About

The Instructors

The one's who make it all happen
Neil Emerton
Neil is the founder and Chief Instructor of Hyung Je Martial Arts. With over 20 years of martial arts experience under his belt, Neil brings deep technical knowledge, infectious energy and genuine passion for helping people grow.
He's not just here to teach - he's here to guide. Neil's approach combines discipline with encouragement, tradition with a  modern mind set. It doesn't matter your age or background, he knows how to get the best out of you - even when you don't believe it yet.
Behind the blackbelt is someone who understands that martial arts isn't just about fighting -  it's about confidence, focus, personal growth. Neil lives by the values he teaches; respect, resilience and never giving up.
He's still learning, still evolving and still as passionate as the day the club opened in 2011

Adrian Taylor
Adrian has been part of Hyung Je Martial Arts since day one, and his dedication to the club and its students runs deep.
A highly experienced martial artist and fully qualified instructor, Adrian is known for always smiling and making people feel welcome. His easy manner and chatty personality instantly puts the new nervous students at ease and helping students relax....and then sneakily making you work harder than you realised.
A big personality with a bigger heart, Adrian keeps the energy high and the pressure low - and we wouldn't have it any other way.

Meet Immy & Dan - Our rising stars
Every club needs fresh energy - And Immy and Dan bring it in spades

Imogen Clark is sharp, focused and quietly confident. She's got a great eye for technique and a calm presence that younger students really connect with. Whether she's assisting in a class or running her own warmups, Immy leads by example - always ready to help someone improve.. . . . . and we are still waiting to add her photo!

Dan Hammond is our newest instructor. Full of energy, buzzing with enthusiasm and never far from a grin. His history in martial arts and experience in teaching has made Dan a popular addition to the HJMA team.
