Hyung Je Martial Arts was established in 2011 because of a shared passion for Martial Arts by the club founders, without a viable club to train with; so they decided to start Hyung Je Martial Arts! The Aim was to create an organization that provides a positive, friendly, safe and professional training program for all ages and abilities, from 6 years old and upwards.
The club was established as an independent club, free of association membership which specializes in the more traditional I.T.F. style of Tae Kwon Do developed by General Choi Hong Hi (1918-2002) and covers all aspects of training from Korean history, fitness and self-defense, through to more technical applications and techniques.
Hyung Je Martial Arts prides itself on its family friendly atmosphere, running separate children’s and adult classes to cater for their individual requirements. Our club also provides a positive, controlled social meeting environment for its teenage students. Our philosophy for the club also mirrors the intention of Master Choi, the founder of Tae Kwon Do when he brought his martial art to the world. It does not matter what race, religion, creed or what your political and cultural differences may be, your training and its environment provide the platform to put those issues aside, to create a place where students can train side by side as friends and colleagues. This is reflected in the choice of the club name. Hyung Je is the Korean interpretation for siblings and used to express the context of both Brothers or sisters.
Hyung Je Martial Arts ensures that all instructors are fully qualified, DBS (CRB) checked and first aid trained which ensures a high standard of instruction and safety throughout the organization.
